AUDITIONS
Actors grades and up participate in a three part audition including: acting, singing and dance. An audition packet will be emailed to all participants two weeks prior to auditions. K-2nd graders are automatically placed in ensemble roles and will be given lines and solos as they demonstrate desire and readiness. Their rehearsals begin a week after the older kids and are a little shorter.
REHEARSALS
Actors are expected to attend rehearsals each week and stay for the entire time. In the event that you need to miss a rehearsal, you are responsible for catching up what you missed. Actors should be practicing lines, lyrics and choreography every week in between rehearsals. Adult characters, such as Trunchbull, Ms. Honey and Ms. Wormwood will likely be played by actors in grades 6 and up. The role of Matilda requires 2-3 rehearsals per week.
PERFORMANCES
Each cast will have two performances and two dress rehearsals the week of the show. Some families choose to only participate in one performance. That is fine, just let us know ahead of time. Parents are not required to volunteer or assist with the production, although we appreciate those who do! Tickets are required for the performance and are sold through a third party.
Auditions are in November. Rehearsals are once per week. No rehearsals over the Thanksgiving and December school breaks.
